We were commissioned to redesign the office of a senior government officer from Punjab, the JDC of MGNREGA, to create a workspace that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The layout was divided into three key areas: a waiting area, discussion zone, and the director’s table. Upon entering, the waiting area features a carved sofa paired with two cane chairs, offering a welcoming environment. The adjacent discussion zone includes a round table for four people, perfect for small meetings. The director’s table, positioned at the far end, was placed strategically to offer a full outdoor view through large windows, creating a connection with nature and a sense of openness.
The walls were designed with MDF moulding battens in a box pattern, finished with emulsion paint. Each box reflected different aspects of the officer’s work, including images of his projects, two custom art pieces showcasing the Punjab map and key policies, and a board listing former officers. To enhance the atmosphere, planters were installed on the terrace, adding greenery, while picture lights were placed to highlight the art pieces and achievements, creating a thoughtful balance between functionality and design.
